How do I Automatically Import My Callsign from SimBrief?

To import your callsign from SimBrief automatically, follow these guidelines:

Valid Callsign Format: Ensure your callsign in SimBrief is formatted as XXX1234, where XXX is the ICAO code of your airline and 1234 is the flight number. For example:

  • UAL1234 (United Airlines) becomes "United twelve-thirty-four" in the U.S. or "United one-two-three-four" outside of the U.S.

Virtual Airlines: If you're flying with a virtual airline, ensure you enter the custom ICAO code and corresponding callsign in your pilot portal settings.

Automatic Import Conditions: The system will automatically import your callsign from SimBrief if the following conditions are met:

  • Not a Tail Number: The callsign is not formatted like a tail number (e.g., "N12345").
  • Recognized ICAO Code: The airline ICAO code must be in the system's database or entered as a valid virtual airline code.

Flight Plan Activation: Your callsign will only update when you pick up your IFR flight plan, provided it meets the above criteria.

If It Doesn't WorkDouble-Check: Verify that your airline code is correct, the flight number is valid, and your callsign doesn't resemble a tail number. Ensure that the settings in your pilot portal, especially for virtual airlines, are configured correctly.

IMPORTANT: Once you've done this, SayIntentions.AI will IGNORE the built-in callsigns in the app settings, and use the simbrief callsign instead. BUT NOT UNTIL YOU HAVE CALLED CLEARANCE TO PICK UP YOUR IFR FLIGHT PLAN!
