What is the Experimental Server?

The Experimental Server is a testing environment where all new features and bug fixes (except emergency fixes) are deployed first. This server allows developers to identify and address issues before rolling out updates to the main production environment, reducing the risk of instability for the broader user base.

Who Can Use the Experimental Server?

Anyone who is a subscriber for more as 60 days can use the Experimental Server. It is especially encouraged for those who want to help improve the product and are willing to deal with potential bugs and issues.

How Do I Use the Experimental Server?

To opt-in to the experimental server, go to your Pilot Portal and select the opt-in option after reading the terms and warnings on using this server. To switch to the Experimental Server, go to your settings in the application, find the "Experimental" section, and select the option to set your server to Experimental. Remember to switch back if you encounter problems or no longer wish to use this server.

What Are the Downsides to Using the Experimental Server?

The Experimental Server is intended for testing, so you may encounter instability, bugs, or other issues. If you're simply looking for early access to new features, this may not be the best choice, as the overall experience could suffer. We also ask you to properly report issues on the correct Discord channel (#experimental-bugreports ) with your Flight ID and Simbrief OFP-link.

How Do I Find Out What I Should Be Testing or Looking Out For?

Keep an eye on the #experimental-changelog in Discord, where updates and things to watch for are posted.

How Do I Report Bugs or Problems?

If you encounter any issues, please report them in the #experimental-bugreports channel on Discord.
