The TaxiTuner Inferace consists of 4 main sections:
1) Desired Airport and Historical Taxi Solutions (upper left)
2) Save and Share (upper right)
3) Airport Map
4) Edit Mode Selection
Here is a brief description of how to use each section:
1) Desired Airport and Historical Taxi Solutions - This is where you will enter the ICAO abbreviation for the airport you wish to edit.
If you have taxied at this airport in the past, you can enter the FlightID of your flight and you will be shown a list of historical taxi paths which is useful for comparison purposes.
Also shown will be a Computed Taxi Path if you use the Pathfinder pins to define Start and End points to check the validity of your edits. note: Pathfinder Pins will be discussed later in this document
Finally, if there is Navigraph data for the selected airport, the taxi solution for the same Pathfinder pins will be shown but using Navigraph's data rather than the data you have currently selected in the Save and Share section.
2) Save and Share
In this section you can select all publicly available version of this airport. Different users' edits who publish their version will appear in this section and you are free to make their edit your personal default by checking the box in the My Default column next to the version you want. Immediately, ATC will use the data in that edit for all taxi solutions, gates, stands and POI.
Also in this section you can see which version is the community default. You cannot change this but you are able to view airport map for this version and see what is contained in this edit.
Finally, this section is where you can clone existing data to use a the base for your new edit. This is done by highlighting the edit you want to use as your base and then clicking on the "clone selected airport..." button.
Use this section to also Save your completed edit.
3) Airport Map
This is a standard map where you can view the airport in many different formats selectable via a drop down "hamburger" menu in the upper right hand corner. The best options are the Street Map and Google Satellite views.
4) Edit Mode Selection
In this section, you can select the edit mode. Options are View, Select, Move, Create, Points/Parking. Each mode will be discussed in detail later in this document.
TIP: Keyboard shortcuts (first letter of the mode name ) can be used to select each of these modes.
